We believe it is important that online publications created with Magzmaker are accessible to everyone. We aren’t there yet, but we are working step by step to further improve the accessibility of the Magzmaker platform, using the WCAG 2.2 guidelines as a starting point.

Working together on accessibility

An online publication consists of two components: the Magzmaker platform used to create the publication and the content provided by the organisation.
Both the technical aspects of the platform and the content and design of the publication play a role in accessibility. For example, content accessibility depends on factors such as meaningful alternative text for images, a logical heading structure, sufficient colour contrast, clear link text and accessible media. Accessibility of an online publication is therefore a shared responsibility.

For each project, we aim to find the right balance between accessibility and design. We can advise on colour contrast, readability and typography within the possibilities of Magzmaker. If you have specific accessibility requirements or internal guidelines, we are happy to discuss how these can be applied.

What does Magzmaker do?

We test the platform against the accessibility criteria of WCAG 2.2, level AA, and make improvements where necessary.
We do this in two ways:
